1st KATARINA WITT CHARITY - GOLF TOURNAMENT

13.05.2017

I still can't believe it, but I let myself be "persuaded" to create a charity golf tournament. At an exciting golf event with a 2-strample, an introductory workshop and a wonderful evening event we were able to achieve a proud donation for the Katarina Witt Foundation of a total of 60,000 euros.

With the support of the golf park and the help of some generous single donations from friends and a quiet auction - also supported by long-standing business partners, such as RIMA Bau, DEAG, Schertz / Bergmann and the Hotel der Lindenhof, who contributed a considerable sum - we already started in the early evening with a great success. Thank you all so much for this!

A very big thank you goes to the Deutsche Postcode Lottery (DPL). When the managing director Eva Struving handed me the very generous check for the projects of my foundation, I could hardly believe our luck. What an amazing surprise! On the foundation website, you can find out more about the many-sided projects for children and young people with physical disabilities which the foundation has supported and financed since 2005.

photo 2: Normally it is I, as an ambassador, who presents the big monthly prize in the name of the DPL to the winners, holds the golden envelope in my hands and looks into the joyful or sometimes unbelieving faces. This time it is Eva Struving, who surprised me and gave the foundation a tremendous pleasure.

photo 3: Daniel Weiss, tv sports host with ARD, led skillfully through the evening and supported me here as a good friend. Together with him I explained to my guests my foundation, the different projects and the concrete help that we can realise for many children.
