A Winter Fest with Ski World Cup Slalom in Munich

The 2nd day of the new year starts right away with a world-class winter sports highlight. A FIS World Cup parallel slalom in the middle of a city. More than 25 000 spectators come to see the elite of alpine skiing in the Munich Olympic Park. The atmosphere among the fans is fantastic and the athletes are racing down the only 200 m long piste with incredible speed. I don't think fans and athletes have ever been so close together which is the charm of such an event.
For our Olympic bid those are exactly the pictures which show what we are capable of: top athletes competing, perfect organization, dream venue and a stirring ambience. During the award ceremony I am allowed to present the flowers and hey, I have the opportunity to shake the hand of Bode Miller :-) I also meet Lindsay Vonn and chat with her briefly. She really does have an amazing charisma.
As you can see on the picture we are also in party mood: Susi Erdmann, successful luger and bobsled pilot, and always super charming Munich Lord Mayor Christian Ude.
