GERMAN SPORTS PRESS BALL IN FRANKFURT

Today the traditional Sports Press Ball takes place in the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. It's the 30th anniversary of this event and I enjoy it together with 2.800 guests ;-) In the course of the evening the Klitschko brothers receive the "Sportler mit Herz" (athletes with heart) award and I am honored with the title "Legende des Sports" (legend of sports). Volker Bouffier, prime minister of Hessen, holds the eulogy for me in a very passionate way and I am very touched. After Franz Beckenbauer, Oliver Kahn, Boris Becker and Heiner Brand I am the first 'Lady' who is honored with this title and I sure do hope that I start a trend here ;-).

The atmosphere at the ball is very relaxed among the many active and former world class athletes as well as the celebrities from politics, economy, media and showbiz. Later in the evening Gloria Gaynor ignites musical fireworks and the Sports Press BALL lives up to its name ;-)
