Golden Sports Pyramide

In 2010 I had the honour to receive this prestigious award and I will never forget the ceremony surrounded by sports-loving friends, companions and family members as well as the flaming eulogy that the former Prime Minister of Brandenburg, Matthias Platzeck, addressed at the time. I have no doubt that Jochen Schümann, the most successful German sailor of all time, will experience similar feelings as this years recipient of the most valuable prize in German Sports. He was warmly praised by Interior Minister, Thomas de Maizière, who cultivates a strong passion for sports. Of course the winner is the main focus of tonights event but the organiser Deutsche Sporthilfe (Germand Sports Aid Foundation) always uses the opportunity to promote the need for more economical and political support in Sports.

For me personally it is always a great pleasure to meet some "old" familiar faces such as soccer legend Franz Beckenbauer and handball legend Heiner Brand (photo 1). Franz and Heiner were figureheads and role models in their respective sports and are both proud owners of the pyramid :-)

BMW has kindly provided me with a gorgeous fjord blue 1975 Classic 3.0 CS for a few month and I cannot resist showing off my "bodywork" (photo 2 and 3) on the red carpet! It is amazing how much attention man, pardon: woman, can get with such a beauty in road traffic ;-)
