INTERVIEW For CNN Series "SOUNDTRACK: SONGS THAT MADE HISTORY"

CNN is interviewing important witnesses to history, historians, journalists and musicians for his 8-episode 1-hour series "Soundtrack: Songs that made history". Each of these episodes deals with a different historical event, from the Stonewall riots on Christopher Street, the civil rights movement, the moon landing and the fall of the Berlin Wall to the attacks of September 11th.

In my interview, we were talking about the years around the fall of the Berlin Wall and my perspective as an athlete in the former GDR. The concert by Michael Jackson in West Berlin, the counter-concert by Bryan Adams in the East in Weißensee, Bruce Springsteen in Berlin, the Pink Floyd concert "The Wall" right at the wall or the terribly successful song "Looking for Freedom" by David Haseloff - these are so many wonderful memories ...
