MUNICH 2018 ON THE FERRIS WHEEL IN BERLIN

From today on Munich 2018 is widely visible in Berlin. Lord Mayor Klaus Wowereit and I hoisted a 9 x 10 m Munich 2018 banner at the Ferris wheel of the Christmas market in front of the town hall. "Berlin's support for Munich's bid to host the 2018 Winter Games is clear and along with the rest of the country, we would benefit from the great prestige associated with hosting this global sporting event" says Wowereit and continues: "Berlin shows solidarity with Munich and supports the application for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Germany in the year 2018" 

Of course I thank the mayor. As a Berliner I am very proud that my home town supports the bid, as the whole of Germany would be boosted if we win the chance to celebrate our Festival of Friendship in 2018.
