Wishing Farewell to the Munich 2018 Bid Book

In front of the Munich City Hall the 396-page Bid Book, the official written application for the Olympic Games, is ceremoniously sent off on its way to the IOC headquarters in Lausanne.

In the morning a hearty Weißwurst breakfast is organized for the press at the city hall in the presence of associates of the application Dr. Thomas Bach (DOSB President and IOC Vice President), Christian Ude (Lord Mayor of Munich; see photo), Siegfried Schneider (head of the Bavarian State Chancellery), Thomas Schmid (Mayor of Garmisch-Partenkirchen), Georg Grabner (Governor of Berchtesgadener Land) sport ambassadors Rosi Mittermaier, Marina Kiehl and Verena Bentele as well as representatives of sponsors and partners of our application, such as BMW, Lufthansa, Toto-Lotto, Sparkasse.

After the farewell ceremony Bernard Schwank and I jump into the environmental friendly electro-mini by BMW to drive to the Munich airport. From there our delegation flighs to Lausanne to hand over the book at the IOC headquarters.
